The new year is already off to an exciting start, as Verizon and Apple have finally partnered up to bring us the sexy iPhone! There is no doubt that the iPhone is going to be a great success for Verizon cellular phones. Plenty of people will want it and buy it as soon as it becomes available in early February. But even with the iPhone coming to Verizon soon, there are a few other cell phones that deserve your careful attention. Whether you're a new Verizon customer, or if you're an existing customer looking to upgrade your phone, research these top rated Verizon phones to help make sure you find the perfect phone.

Verizon offers several ways to connect your laptop, netbook or other Internet capable device to the Internet. I will briefly describe the most common methods of providing 3G Internet. The cost for the data plan in 2010 was about $60 for 5 Gigabytes of data per month.

Verizon 3G Internet Smart Phones: You can use any of Verizon's 3G smartphones to provide Internet access to your laptop or possibly other wireless Internet devices, depending on the capabilities of your 3G smartphone. Several of the latest smartphones have 3G mobile hotspot capabilities.

The Motorola Droid X is a simply brilliant and gorgeous phone, sporting a huge 4.3 inch HD touch-screen display. Like the Incredible, it also runs on the Google Android platform. The Droid X features an 8 MP camera and HD video recording capabilities. If you want a rich multi-media experience to watch videos and movies, this is probably the phone for you. It even has an HDMI-output, allowing your Droid X to connect its display to any HDTV via HDMI. The Droid X also has more connectivity features, including the ability for the phone to be a 3G Mobile Hotspot, where 5 other devices can gain WiFi Internet access through your Droid X.

Even if your smartphone doesn't have mobile hotspot capabilities, it can still be tethered via a USB cable to your laptop or netbook to provide 3G Internet access. If you're in the market for a new smartphone or have had your existing phone plan for a couple of years or more, you may be able to get one of the newest 3G Internet provider smart phones for next to nothing. Verizon and most other cellular Internet providers offer huge discounts and rebates when you sign a new contract.
