Choosing the Right Internet Telephone Service Provider

By Saul Saresi

Choosing the right Voip service provider is, without doubt, the most important aspect of ensuring you're new Voip system runs as optimally as possible, as often as possible. Downtime caused by faulty systems can cost your business untold amounts in revenue and trust.

The past few years have seen an incredible increase in the number of companies offering internet telephone services, and that trend looks set to continue for the foreseeable future as the quality of Voip system technology available increases ever further.

The reason for the continued surge in interest and demand for both hosted Voip and IP PBX internet telephone systems, is the advantages they offer to businesses over traditional analogue phone systems. From massively reduced call costs to massively improved audio quality and incredible versatility.

But with so many service providers offering such a variety of options and services, how do you know which provider is the right choice for you? Many people would simply look to the cheapest monthly costs, but this can be a very costly mistake which will end up costing you much more than a couple of pounds each month.

One way to ensure you are looking in the right place for your service provider is to check with the ITPSA (Internet Service Providers Association) the only official trade association established to represent service providers and operators across the UK and Europe.

Presently the ITSPA has over 50 Voip service providers as members, however, only 18 of these members have received an ITSPA quality mark, guaranteeing that the level of quality and service provided by each of these companies is without reproach.

New businesses will always be looking for the next way to make some 'easy money' by following the crowd and any new system or technology which has proven its ability to attract the masses and keep them entertained.

With the countless millions of businesses and households who have yet to take advantage of Voip technology, there is a huge pool of potential customers just waiting to be convinced of the benefits of Internet Telephony. And with a system such as this, whose advantages are so clear that they speak for themselves, it will surely be just a matter of time before analogue telephones and systems are a thing of the past.
